Three Activities That Help with Headaches

I think it is fair to say that all of us have experienced a headache at some point in our life. But for some people they experience headaches on a regular basis. Depending on their frequency and duration, it maybe even considered chronic.

This does not always need to be the case and there are three activities that can be done regularly which will help in many cases to overcome headaches.

The first type of exercise is a combination of cardiovascular and strength training exercises.  There are so many different ways for you to be able to do this, but the real essence of it is the fact that you are going to be building up the body from the inside out.  Exercise has so many great benefits for general health and wellbeing as well as for headaches. Exercise can really help you to be headache free for the rest of your life.  It is important for you to realize, however, that you should not do exercise while you are in the middle of a headache.  Just make sure that you get your exercise in daily and you will notice a difference.

Another type of activity which can assist you with headaches is stretching.  It always helps to stretch on a daily basis but this is especially true if you have a problem with tension in the neck and shoulder areas.  This is commonly felt by individuals who have desk jobs, particularly those who use computers on a regular basis.  Make it a point to get up regularly, move around and stretch, keeping your neck and shoulders loose. You will notice less headaches as a result.

Finally, try do some form of yoga.  I would recommend something like Yin Yoga which is slower in pace, with longer poses and focus on breathing.  Not only is this excellent for building up the body but it has the added benefit of giving you time to relax and meditate.  This can help to build the mind, release some stress and avoid many of the triggers that cause headaches in the first place.
